2012 Green Party of Colorado Nominating Convention and Meeting
The Green Party of Colorado (GPCO) Nominating Convention will take place March 31st, 2012 at the Third Street Center in Carbondale, Colorado. We would like to extend an invite to all Greens in Colorado. At this convention, candidates seeking state and local office in the 2012 election on the Green Party of Colorado ticket will be nominated. Colorado delegates to the Green Party of the United States (GPUS) presidential nomination will also be selected. All registered voters of the GPCO will be allowed to cast votes for these nominees and delegates. In addition to these votes, policy positions of the GPCO may be discussed and voted on. This event is free of charge. Please help us plan ahead by RSVPing at the website below.
I am a registered Green party voter in Broomfield, Colorado. I’m wondering why the convention is so far away from Denver? I would like to come and vote and am hoping to make the drive. Best of luck to all local Green candidates and also support to Jill Stein for U.S. President!
The Green Party of Colorado has a policy of alternating annual meeting locations between the Front Range and the Western Slope so it is fair for the people traveling from all ends of the state and their travel obligation is more balanced. Last year, the meeting was in Boulder county. This year, the meeting was actually not as far south as many members would have hoped because it is still easier for the Front Range Greens to get to the Carbondale location, than it is for the Telluride and Cortez area Greens to get there.
Anyway, we hope you will arrange a ride and get to the meeting. We would love for more registered Greens to participate.
By the way, we don’t have a Broomfield local chapter of the Greens but we do have an Adams-Jefferson chapter and a Greater Boulder chapter. You can find contact info for those chapters under the chapters tab on the website. Both chapters probably already had their March meetings but they usually meet monthly and will have meetings again in April.
