We’d like to offer guidelines on how the Green Party of Colorado intends to interface with presidential candidates before our nomination process, which will likely happen approximately May 2020. Please refer to the following list:
- If you have social media posts you would like us to share, please send your link and/or image to contact@coloradogreenparty.org or message the social media page in question. We will be adding a disclaimer that “posting does not equal endorsement.”
- Our next state meeting will be approximately August 2019, the date to be confirmed. We can allow limited equal time for candidates. If you would like to attend electronically or in person, please let us know.
- Because the state party is neutral until May 2020, we will not be able to plan any events for your campaign specifically, outreach to voters on your behalf, fundraise, organize, mobilize or do anything that campaigns do for themselves. We are happy to post announcements or share your events on our social media pages, however. Please have your volunteers plan events, outreach or organize on your behalf instead.
- Similarly, we are not able to plan any gatherings or meetings for your campaign alone until after May 2020.
- Our expectation for your campaign is that you will gather your own Colorado-based volunteers to campaign for you. We will give equal opportunity to each candidate to promote messages and events, but seeking out your information is not within the capacity of our state party. Doing so would also violate our neutrality, so please be proactive in providing that to us as mentioned in Point 1 above.
- After nomination, our selected candidate will be entitled to request support from our state party.
Please contact us with any questions you might have. Thank you.
