The San Miguel Greens, a local chapter of the Colorado Green Party, will be hosting two showings of Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein of Massachusetts giving a People’s State of the Union message – one in Norwood and one in Telluride. This will follow on the heels of Pres. Obama’s State of the Union message.

“It’s election season,” explained Art Goodtimes, Colorado Green Party co-chair. “While it’s too early to decide whom to vote for, it’s a good time to hear what all the political parties are saying about how we can re-occupy our democracy and make real change.”

Stein’s speech will be live broadcast from her website at 6:30 p.m. (MST) on Wednesday, Jan. 25th at <http://www.jillstein.org/peoples_state_of_the_union>

The San Miguel Greens will hold a Green House Party and potluck in Norwood at the home of Rick and Marty Hollinbeck at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night, Jan. 26th. After the speech, we will have an open discussion.

On Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., the San Miguel Greens together with the Wilkinson Library will have a public screening of the speech, followed by an open discussion.

“No matter what candidate you ultimately select,” suggested Goodtimes, “you ought to hear what the U.S. Green Party is proposing.”
