Denmark’s $21 Minimum Wage
Did you hear about the minimum wage protests today? You may not have, depending on where you get your media!
The fact is, corporate interests are taking advantage of American workers, and have been for decades! Just ask Louise Marie Rantzau:
“You see, I work for McDonald’s in Denmark, where an agreement between our union and the company guarantees that workers older than 18 are paid at least $21 an hour. Employees younger than 18 make at least $15 — meaning teenagers working at McDonald’s in Denmark make more than two times what many adults in America earn working at the Golden Arches. ”
And their burgers cost just $0.56 more!
Here’s the bad news
But these standards didn’t just fall in their laps! They had to fight for their union for five years to drive their message home. Even the $15 our workers are demanding is barely enough to for a young family!
Maybe this is another reason to get your butts to the March Against Monsanto! Corporate powers are always looking to save money ITS IN THEIR NATURE!
Don’t become their bottom line! Demand changes to poverty wages!
What does this issue directly have to do with Monsanto? I’m sincerely asking. This article sounds a bit ranty to talk about Mcdonalds minimum wage, and then lash out against Monsanto. Perhaps I’m just uneducated. But that’s how it comes off to me. Other than that I found this article informational and helpful.
