Dr. Jill Stein Comes Out Against Colorado’s Proposition 131 During Denver Rally
DENVER, CO – Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein announced her opposition to Colorado’s Proposition 131 during her campaign rally in Denver on Saturday.
Jill Stein echoed concerns raised by the Green Party of Colorado (GPCO), stating: “Proposition 131, would actually reduce voter choice and increase the influence of big money in Colorado politics. This measure threatens to undermine the democratic process by potentially eliminating smaller parties from the general election ballot and giving corporate interests even more influence over elected officials across the state.”
The Green Party of Colorado remains committed to defeating Proposition 131 and its dark money campaign to trick voters. If passed, the measure represents a potentially fatal blow to the state’s minor parties, independent voters, and elections as we know it in Colorado.
Voters deserve to know the full impact of mega-millionaire Kent Thiry and Unite America’s plan. A plan that is contrary to the principles of a robust democracy, where all voices should have the opportunity to be heard
Jill Stein and the Green Party of Colorado urges Colorado voters to reject Proposition 131 while calling for reforms that would enact real ranked-choice voting, expand voter choice, and strengthen democracy.
