Sierra Garcia, secretary of the Green Party of Colorado, announces the following process for delegate selection to represent this state party at the GPUS virtual Presidential Nominating Convention, which is slated for July 9-12.
Delegates can be nominated by other registered Colorado Greens that are in good standing, or they may self-nominate. The deadline for nominations is Friday, May 9, 2020 at 11:59 pm Mountain time.
The criteria for nominees is:
- Must have voted in the recent virtual primary
- Are currently registered Green in Colorado
- Must be a member in good standing with a currently active local
Per the results of the virtual primary, Howie Hawkins is allocated 4 delegates, Dario Hunter is allocated 2 delegates, and there is one uncommitted delegate. Nominations should include the nominee’s candidate preference.
In the event that there are more nominations than slots, there will be a ranked-choice vote to determine the delegates. There will be a separate vote for each candidate.
